BOOK ISTANBUL CONNECTIONIstanbul Connection is a Bay Area musical collective formed in 2015 when 13 members of the hottest Balkan and Latin bands were gravitationally pulled to visit the city of Istanbul. With a mind towards cross-cultural connection and sonic expansion, these die-hards flew 7,000 miles to represent a piece of the the Bay Area music scene. In the process, they have cemented themselves as a supergroup of groove and since their epic beginnings, the band has performed sold-out-show after sold-out-show. They continue to draw their inspiration from the Turkish Maqam, Flamenco, Rumba, Balkan, and Cumbia they are are so deeply rooted in. Old school Balkan Latin folk music in a funky Bay Area context.

Frequently asked questions
What kinds of live acts do you book?
Solo musicians, duos and full bands - violin, saxophone, singer-guitarists, vocal harmony duos and covers bands. Each act has its own page saying what it is and what it plays.
Can live musicians play alongside a DJ?
Yes, and it is the most common way they are booked. A saxophonist or violinist over a DJ set during cocktails, a band for the first hours and a DJ after - planned as one production so the evening does not restart every time the music changes hands.
What does live music cost?
Live music is quoted per act and per event, because a solo violinist and a five-piece band are not the same booking. Tell us your date, your venue and roughly how long you want them playing, and a quote follows - usually the same day.
How much space and power does an act need?
It depends on the act, and we tell you before you sign rather than on the day. Send the venue and we confirm the footprint and the power the act needs with your coordinator directly.
Can they keep the lyrics clean?
Yes. Every act on our roster will play a clean set on request, and so will every DJ. Say so in the inquiry and we confirm it with the performer before the quote goes out.
Can we add lighting to a live music booking?
Yes. Lighting is designed around the act and the room as one production, not added as a separate show.
