Lyndsay Brown is a Sacramento-based open-format DJ and MC who plays corporate events, weddings, festivals and private celebrations across Northern California. She reads a room the way a good host does: music that lets people talk over dinner, then a dance floor that fills because the songs feel chosen for this crowd rather than pulled from a playlist.
She came up through Hollywood nightlife, assisting a promoter and talent manager with bookings for Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, LMFAO, Too Short and Cypress Hill. She also trained and performed in improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, and it shows on the microphone: she is a quick, warm MC who can talk to a mixed crowd, roll with whatever the night brings and still keep the attention on the people being celebrated.
Her sound grew out of the open-format DJs she studied - DJ AM, DJ Spider, Jazzy Jeff and Kevin Scott - and out of what she was raised on: Motown, funk, country and classic rock. From there her sets run through R&B, disco, house, yacht rock, new jack swing and '90s and 2000s hip-hop, mainstream and underground. Everything is mixed live, with tidy scratch work between tracks, pairing songs every generation knows with picks nobody saw coming. She knows when to push the energy and when to hold back and let a song play out.
Sutter Health, the American Cancer Society and Planned Parenthood are among her clients, and she has played Golden 1 Center, PayPal Park, Cal Expo during the California State Fair, Sacramento State's Hornet Stadium, the Crocker Art Museum and 1015 Folsom in San Francisco. Guests at her events have included Lester Holt, Molly Ringwald and Congresswoman Doris Matsui. She has opened for Snakehips, K. Gianni and Vicetone, and kept crowds dancing with post-concert sets after Ludacris, Dustin Lynch, Cypress Hill, En Vogue and Tesla.

Yes. Every DJ has a page showing the genres they play, the rooms they have worked and photographs from real events, so you can shortlist two or three yourself. Tell us your date and we come back with who is free.
Do your DJs work as MC as well?
Some do, and it is named on each DJ's own page rather than promised for the roster as a whole. A wedding package covers DJ and MC from the ceremony through the last dance.
What does booking a DJ cost?
It depends on your date, your venue and your hours - the same three things that decide what the room needs. Send those and a written quote comes back, itemised, usually the same day. Equipment, delivery, setup and strike are part of it rather than extras added afterwards.
What happens if the party runs long?
Overtime is charged in 30-minute blocks past the contracted end time, and the rate is named in your quote rather than discovered on the night.
Can we add lighting or live musicians to a DJ booking?
Yes. DJ, lighting and any live music are planned as one coordinated production, so the room reads consistently all night instead of as three separate bookings.
